Megan Cox, dance

Before I started ninth grade I was very nervous about walking into the big high school, but after making the Silver Stars drill team I wasn’t nervous at all. I didn’t know Megan Cox until I got introduced to her at installation, and I couldn’t have been more excited knowing she was going to be the new assistant director.

Mrs. Cox is one of the hardest working people I know. She coaches JV and help Mrs. Vaughn with varsity. She is very well organized and doesn’t let anything get in her way of helping her team grow not only as dancers but as a family.

Mrs. Cox was one of Mrs. Vaughn’s Silver Stars and eventually became colonel. Mrs. Cox had a lot of opportunities after leaving high school, but because of how much she loved dance she got the opportunity to become the assistant director at her alma mater.

She is in her first year as the assistant director, but she has already built a bond with us and is growing closer to the team as the year goes on. I can tell how much Mrs. Cox loves watching the team dance as she cheers us on. I can always see in her face how proud she is. She always reminds us how hard we work and supports us no matter what.

Mrs. Cox is one of the kindest, smartest and most intelligent people I know. She is very passionate about having a positive mindset and always thinking about the good in life. Mrs. Cox is always there when I need a friend or just someone to talk to.

I’ve had a great time getting to know Mrs. Cox and being there for her special moments or just having a nice laugh. Mrs. Cox will be someone I will never forget as she has changed my life. I will forever be grateful to have her as my coach.
