Paisley Thomas, freshman
As freshman Paisley Thomas reflects on Black History Month, she remembers the extraordinary courage and resilience of the Underground Railroad conductor Harriet Tubman and the trials and tribulations Tubman faced throughout her lifetime.
“She saved the slaves even though she could have gotten in massive trouble and been killed,” Thomas said. “But she still had the courage to lead people out of a bad situation.”
What does Black History Month mean to you?
“It’s a time where people can learn about Black history that they don’t know.”
