Samuel Aparicio

Samuel Aparicio, sophomore

Sophomore Samuel Aparicio has looked up to President Barack Obama from a young age. To Aparicio, Obama isn’t just the first African-American president, he’s also one of the many inspirational people in his life because of their backgrounds and the beliefs they share.

“I agree with his ideologies,” Aparicio said. “And what he stands for.”

What does Black History Month mean to you?

“It’s a time to learn more about your heritage and where you’re from and having knowledge about what happened previously and all those years. I think finding out what happened hundreds of years ago is really important to know your own background and your history and where you’re from.”
