The play “33 Variations” by Moisés Kaufman is about Dr. Katherine Brandt, a gravely ill scholar, who visits Germany as her last wish to see original Beethoven sketches against her daughter’s wishes. Back in the 19th century, we see Beethoven and friend, Anton Schindler, battle it out with Anton Diabelli, over Beethoven’s 33 variations of Schindler’s waltz. As Brandt’s illness progresses, the lines between these two worlds blur as timelines intersect.
The theater department has two shows left on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. You can also find more photos at KP Media’s SmugMug account.
