Freshman Izzy Fabrizio is a part of the girls freshman basketball team, as well as Pickleball Club. Ever since Fabrizio was young, she has had a passion for basketball. As for the Pickleball Club, she recently joined because of her brother.
Fabrizio first started basketball when she was young after her dad had signed her up for a local team with church friends. Other sports she had tried didn’t work out for Fabrizio, but she ended up enjoying basketball and has played it ever since.
“It was when I was like 4 or 5, and my dad put me in basketball because he wanted me to do something,” Fabrizio said. “Dance wasn’t working out and neither was soccer, so he put me in basketball and I really like it.”
Fabrizio played basketball in middle school as well. Though she didn’t have many chances to play, she still enjoyed the memories she made during those times.
“Middle school year was like one of the funnest times I’ve ever played basketball,” she said. “Even though I didn’t play a lot, it was still really fun.”
Basketball isn’t the only thing that Fabrizio does. When she is outside of school, she is also a pianist who has taken regular piano lessons for the past seven years.
“I do play the piano,” she said. “My parents forced me to play the piano, so I do play the piano and I’m pretty good at it.”
