Graduation is coming up soon for the seniors but here’s what’s in store before the big day.
An entire week has been planned to celebrate the senior class.
The week starts with dress-up days:
- Monday seniors wear their senior picnic shirts.
- Tuesday it’s “A-B-See-Ya!” Seniors are supposed dress up as something that has the same first letter as their first name.
- Wednesday is dress up as your favorite teacher.
- Thursday is dress up as a senior citizen.
- Friday is “Future Friday,” where you dress up as your future career or college
The seniors will kick off Monday at Big Rivers Waterpark for their senior picnic. They will arrive at school and board the buses to the waterpark.
Then, after a week of dress-up days, the seniors will head to prom, which will be from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Daikin Park.
The events have been made possible by strong fundraising, which included a two big fundraisers and Powder Puff games. They did a number of smaller fundraisers every year since they were freshmen too.
“They’ve done extremely well,” class sponsor Pamela Workman said. “And really starting from freshman year through early this year, they worked really hard. The officers brought the class together to get the necessary funds.”
The fundraising not only gave students a chance to raise money for their class and senior activities, but it also gave students a chance to win prizes based on how much money they personally raised.
“I like that if you raise enough money, you can get a free prom. It just made my life easier not having to pay for a $95 prom ticket,” senior Isabelle Fleenor said.
In the end, the seniors will close out the year with Senior Sunset on May 21 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the football field on campus.
Graduation will then be on May 24 at 4 p.m. at NRG Stadium.
“I think they did a really good job,” senior Joshusa Corkern said. “The Class of 2025 is one of the most well funded classes in K-Park history.”
