Dan + Shay, an American country duo composed of Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, released a new single called “ From the Ground Up” on February 5th. The duo is known for their hit song “19 you + me” off their first studio album “ Where It All Began”, which was released on April 1, 2014.

“From the Ground Up” is a slow love song with endearing lyrics. As always one can get lost in the beauty of the duo’s voices. The song is about “ building love from the ground up” and staying together “through the good and the bad”.

The song is essentially the love story of someone’s (possibly Dan’s or Shay’s) grandparents and how they’ve stayed together for 65 years.

The music video has also been released and it’s heart warming. The video shows the progression of love between two people and has glimpses of Dan and Shay. The video is set in the 1940’s-1950’s era.

Needless to say, “From the Ground Up” is a beautiful love song and fans are most definitely looking forward to what Dan + Shay have to offer them next.
