Angela Chancellor, golf coach and teacher

Coach Angela Chancellor is my favorite person at Kingwood Park because she is my golf coach. She is super supportive and sees potential in people. When I first came to KPARK, I was in sixth period golf. It is the lower class with less practice, and I was really struggling. I couldn’t even get into the 90s when I played 18 holes.

I would hit a lot of good shots in practice and on our simulator, but I struggled in the tournaments. After Christmas, Chancellor moved me into seventh period, the upper class with more practice. I wondered why she moved me into the upper class, and thought that she might have seen a lot of potential in me.

Going into the seventh period class has given me more confidence in my golf game. She gives me tips on how I can improve. There have been times that I have wanted to quit because it was so frustrating, but then I remembered why she moved me into seventh period.

She has a good relationship with all the players and laughs with all of us. She makes all of us more mature on the golf course and mature in life. All the kids and the environment she has created in class is the best.
