Maya Ortiz, Editor-in-Chief
Maya Ortiz, junior, is starting her third year on the newspaper staff as the editor-in-chief. She was named NSPA national high school photojournalist of the year using her freshman portfolio. Maya is also on the teen leadership council of the Houston Zoo's Zoo Crew Program and founder of the conservation club. Maya has a dog named Ace and a hedgehog named Pineapple. Maya enjoys listening to David Bowie, watching musicals and reading Alice Oseman books.
