Gracie Hernandez

Grade: 11

Year on All Stars: 2

All-Stars Team: Green Team

What do you do to get yourself ready for a performance?

“I do my hair if it needs to be done, then I kind of kill time watching stuff on my phone. Then I do my makeup because it doesn’t take that long.”

Do you have any superstitions?

“Drink a Cherry Coke.”

What is your favorite snack on game days?

“A Deluxe McCrispy Large with extra mayonnaise, extra lettuce, no tomatoes, and add American cheese with the Cherry Coke.”

What is your favorite part about being at the basketball games?

“You’re getting in for free and just dancing on the side. It’s very laidback. It’s not too much pressure and you’re just kind of having fun. They’re short dances so it’s kind of hard to forget.”

What is the hardest thing about being an All Star?

“Getting ready, I know I say I kill time but I procrastinate getting ready a lot. Like my hair, I finish it like two minutes before we have to be out here to go out.”

What is the biggest difference between dancing on the team during football and competition season compared to All Stars?

“I find it more exciting and more, it catches my attention a little bit more than contest season. I’m just more excited when they mention All Stars rather than everything else.”

What special memory can you recall from being on the All Stars team?

“When Ms. Vaughn played the music last game and I ran into Emma Frazier.”
