Hogan Anderson, sophomore

At his first region meet Hogan Anderson was nervous for his races. He was not eligible to swim at  region last year because he  transferred from Kingwood High School. He was ready for his opportunity this year.

My dad always gives me this pep talk before I swim,” Anderson said. “’Give 110%. You’re stronger than you think you are.’ That really helps me get into the vibes.”

Anderson placed 7th overall in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.4. He also placed first in the B final of the 200 freestyle with a time of 30.19.

My goal was to, one, improve on all my times, and I did that on all of them,” Anderson said. “And then my second goal was to qualify for the state, and we did that too.”

The team placed 3rd overall and Anderson could not be prouder of the team.

I knew a lot of people were going to qualify for our team because we all work really hard every day,” Anderson said. “We all show and do what we need to do. I knew that they were going to make it because they showed up and they performed.”
