‘Dune: Part Two’ is perfect addition to franchise

The sequel to Dune, starring Timothée Chalamet, is a great addition to the trilogy.
The sequel to “Dune,” starring Timothée Chalamet, is a great addition to the trilogy.

They say that with trilogies the first is the best, the second is mediocre and the third is either a little worse or a little better than the second.

With Dune: Part Two that is not the case. Its predecessor “Dune: Part One” won six Oscars in 2022. It is obvious that the sequel won’t fall short of everything “Dune: Part One” stands for. With unbelievable visual and practical effects, the film is beautiful in the most sci-fi way.

You’re immediately captured into how they made a sandy planet seem so interesting. Whether it is the beautiful Fremen temple or the gigantic sandworms that live on Dune, everything looks so gorgeous and realistic.

One thing that helps the planet seem so breathtaking is the soundtrack that comes with it, which is orchestrated by Hans Zimmer. Zimmer has a very impressive resume with previous soundtracks including “Interstellar,” “Kung Fu Panda,” and “The Dark Knight” trilogy. He takes you to a place with his music where you feel like you are on Dune with the characters.

The movie also has incredible performances from Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, as Paul Atreides and Chani. Austin Butler solidified his career as one of the best with his performance as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen.

There is nothing but hope in the air as Dune: Messiah was announced to be in production. Now everyone wants to know will they be able to have a perfect trilogy? If Denis Villeneuve, the Dune franchise director, has proved anything it’s that the next installment will only top the last one.
