The varsity football team fell just shy of a victory in its season opening game against Montgomery. The Panthers fell, 28-26, with senior Aaron Gilliam making his first start at quarterback. The Panthers started the fourth quarter trailing, 21-14, before scoring 12 in the fourth quarter. Montgomery held on for the win by adding a final touchdown to put the game out of reach.
