The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is the largest rodeo in the world, making it a great place for artists to showcase their talent, especially country artists. The lineup this year has a vast variety of new and returning artists, and the lineup is better than it previously has been.
Cody Johnson, who used to be a constant performer at Rodeo Houston, took a break, but has come back for the finale with Jon Pardi and Randy Houser opening for him.
The rodeo has started breaking its previous records, reaching its all-time high last rodeo, with 2.7 million attendees.
The Houston Rodeo lineup has faced many changes, like shifting from all country to featuring more genres. The lineup this year offers many varieties for many fans.
The nine new artists that are featured this year are Russell Dickerson, Lizzo, Forrest Frank, Megan Moroney, Creed, Shaboozy, Pepe Aguilar, Red Clay Strays and Koe Wetzel. This group of new artists all have new things to offer to the rodeo.
The returning artists are Riley Green, J Balvin, Rascal Flats, Dwight Yoakam, Luke Bryan, Chris Stapleton, Kelly Clarkson, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Lainey Wilson, Parker McColum, Tim McGraw and Cody Johnson. Many of the returners are country artists with a wide range of styles.
The list of performers is strong this year. With recent years having less well-received artists, this year’s show promises hope for better further lineups. While some may argue San Antonio Rodeo has better performance lineups than the Houston one, tickets for the Houston shows are selling fast.
This year, the rodeo gives many opportunities to see new and returning artists, whether you like country music or are just looking for a concert to enjoy with your family or friends. This year’s strong lineup gives hope it will continue to progressively get better, and even break more records.
