A K-Park student was approached by an older man Thursday morning while walking to school on the greenbelt trail near Friarwood Trail, according to a letter sent Friday to parents from the school principal.

Principal Lisa Drabing reported that the man followed a male student for some time before reaching out and touching his shoulder, at which point the student ran home. The incident, which happened around 8:50 a.m., was later reported to the police.

In her letter, Drabing described the man as “a white male, age 55-60 with white/gray hair and mustache, a white t-shirt with a hole on the left side and beige cargo pants with large pockets.”

She encouraged students to walk on the greenbelt trails in groups, avoid talking to strangers, and report unusual occurrences to adults immediately.
