[Slideshow] Seniors ‘light up the night’ in celebration
Seniors, like Kyra Ivy, lit up their yards in celebration on May 1. They are finishing their last nine weeks of school from home since distance learning was implemented to keep the community safe.

Families throughout Kingwood celebrated their seniors on Friday, May 1. They decorated their yards with balloons and homemade signs. They created banners and used lights to show their pride in their senior. Classmates, teachers and friends drove through the neighborhoods honking and waving to those they found outside.
As the final month of school begins, seniors would typically be preparing for prom. However, the coronavirus pandemic has made mass gatherings impossible. Graduation is now even tentatively planned for July.
