The softball season got underway on Jan. 29 with a scrimmage against Livingston at home. The team has a number of scrimmages, tournaments and games in the coming weeks. Their next home game is Feb. 22 against Splendora. District play starts March 8.

The team has a new coach in Kelsie McEachern. A year ago, they were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. Starters returning from a year ago include senior Taysia Constantino, juniors Peyton Cote, Hannah Leierer and Adriana Gonzalez as well as sophomore Bailey Kee.
