Olivia Horton

Grade: 10

Year on All Stars: 2

All Stars Team: Black Team

What do you do to get yourself ready for a performance?

“I get my AirPods and just listen to the music and go over all the dances and then, make sure I know everything and then feel prepared.”

What is your favorite snack on game days?

“Protein bars and, fruit and stuff — so I don’t feel heavy and can get to the dance.”

What is your favorite part about being at the basketball games?

“It’s fun to just watch them and see other sports and what they do. I’ve never actually watched a basketball game but when we’re at All Stars we have to and so it’s fun to see them play.”

What is the hardest thing about being an All Star?

“It takes a lot of hard work and you have to put a lot of time into it, like memorizing all the dances and just working on certain tricks and stuff.”

What is the biggest difference between dancing on the team during football and competition season compared to All Stars?

“Football season is a lot more laidback, and in All Stars you’re put on a higher expectation. So you have to practice a lot more and to just be more dedicated during that time.”

What special memory can you recall from being on the All Stars team?

“Last year at All Stars we’d go on the court. We have to run in, spirit on, everyone in the student section was watching and I tripped and fell. Yeah, that was pretty funny.”
