[Slideshow] Boys soccer team kicks off season with intense scrimmage

Sophomore goalkeeper Noah Laughlin’s teammates try to convince the ref to just issue a warning after Laughlin earned a goalkeeper penalty on the edge of the box.

The boys soccer team finished in a 1-1 tie in a scrimmage against Aldine Nimitz on Saturday afternoon. The boys took a 1-0 lead in the first five minutes and maintained it until Nimitz tied it in the second half. The intensity increased in the final 10 minutes as each team tried to take the lead. Multiple yellow cards and even a red card were issued before time expired. Sophomore forward Ronan Flaherty scored the Panthers’ only goal.
