Boys soccer season ends in Regional Semifinals

Senior Evan Jimerson discusses with the ref about penalty awarded West Mesquite after a Kingwood Park defender slide tackled a forward. The Panthers lost, 4-1, in the Regional Semifinal.

The boys soccer team fell, 4-1, to West Mesquite (22-5-1) in the Regional Semifinals on April 5 in Carrollton. The game was Kingwood Park’s first loss since Feb. 9 to Porter.

The Panthers’ lone goal came on a header by Chase Bennett, with an assist from Ethan Segura.

This season marked the team’s best finish under third-year coach Christian Boehm. It was the program’s most successful run since 2021 when the team reached the State Finals.

West Mesquite lost in the Regional Semifinals to Lakeland. The boys state tournament will be held this weekend in Georgetown.
