Panthers battle back against Friendswood to advance

Freshman Trinity Brents yells in the pitcher’s mound after throwing the last strikeout to make the team Area champions. Brents threw two complete games in the series at Summer Creek and only allowed 2 runs scored.

The softball team (24-11) defeated the Friendswood Mustangs (24-10) in the Area finals series at Summer Creek High School. The team competed in a double header on May 3, losing the second game of the series, 9-3, and winning the third game, 4-2. The team advances to the third round of playoffs next week, where it will play Georgetown (23-11). Check out a slideshow of photos from the team’s doubleheader against Friendswood.
