Breakdown of hydrogen peroxide creates intriguing bio lab

During a lab in OnRamps Biology seniors Cooper Robinson and Bryce Gerbasich watch as the reaction forms in the test tube. They watched as hydrogen peroxide reacted with liver forming foam in the test tube.

Students in OnRamps Biology participated in an enzyme lab on Dec. 3. They observed a catalase of liver break down hydrogen peroxide. Biology teacher Kristen Lynam led the lab for the juniors and seniors. She is in her first year teaching the OnRamps version of Biology. She had previously taught AP Biology for more than a decade. AP Biology is no longer offered at Kingwood Park.
